'From the beginning, my life has been a journey between the simplistic spirituality of the primitive past and the link that reaches out to me from the future.' When B. Tortorici put paint to canvas for the first time, the paths of that journey be came clear. Tortorici's bold colors and heavy application of paint work to instill the viewer with an energy that can be felt, as well as seen. Tortorici's art is fearless...and knows no limits. His extensive body of work is constantly evolving, encompassing mural size paintings, furniture, wall sculpture, 3-D sculpture and site specific commission work. In recent years, Tortorici's utilization of metals in assemblage, abstractions, collage and sculptural totems has produced some of the artists most distinctive work, particularly the very elegant polished metal assemblage and collage work that constitute his multi award-winning "Metallia' series.
