Todd Ruth's work background started in New York City with travel and after a seemingly, circuitous path through special event planning (catering), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) on the college level, and graduate work in anthropology now returns to travel.
The skills developed in these seemingly, divergent fields are many of the same skills required for travel planning, that is, attention to detail, research in the field, a sense of what works logistically, and the ability to plan according to the needs of the group dynamic.
